Floating Glazes (1430 Series)
The 1180–1230°C (Cone 4–6) floating glazes are all lead-free and suitable for tableware. They require two to three full coats to reveal their full potential. Floating glazes are not a technical term in any sense. They were named for their appearance, because one color effect flows into another without the need to apply different glazes in layers.All samples are fired at 1200°C. Changing the firing temperature can alter the appearance.
